I am starting a Dungeons & Dragons BECMI Rules Set campaign. Rules as collected in the D&D Rules Cyclopedia.
The goal is to truly unpack and play the most complete edition of Dungeons & Dragons how it was intended. Looking to host a game that has a healthy mix of role-play and combat for players who want to take characters from precarious levels 1 to 36 and even beyond a mortal life.
The Gazetteers have intrigued me to run this in the Known World/Mystara setting. I had not even seen those when I started playing BECMI and just assumed everyone made their own world up or ran modules. Well I thought that until I saw the Forgotten Realms box set. Maybe I knew a little about Grayhawk.
Our Goals:
- Be Epic, Play like we played in 1982
- Play one or more characters
- Use Weapon Mastery & Skills
- Track Experience, Money, Arrows/Bolts, Rations, Equipment (My 5e games don’t do much of this)
- Hire and Manage Retainers
- Design and Rule over Strongholds and Domains
- Engage in War (War Machine/Siege Machine)
